My Equipment

Hi folks – I am building this page so it is not complete yet – check back to see the items I am adding as time permits . . .

What cameras, lenses, video and other stuff do I use or recommend??
Here is some of the camera and other equipment I recommend. Anything I linked to B&H helps support this site.

Cameras -

Nikon D3X

This is currently my top tier camera for high end work. It has something I call a “power file”. A power file is a file that has a LOT of pixels that are still very good quality pixels even at high ISO settings. At 100 percent view on your computer monitor it may seem noisy, but because there are  SO MANY pixels the noise all but disappears when you print an image at anything up to a 16×20 or 16×24.

The quality of the D3x is amazing and the images printed from ISO 3200 images at 24×36 are AMAZING. Low light high ISO PRINTS from this camera are excellent. I like this camera a TON. Click on the pix to take you to B&H site:

Canon T2i/550

This is a killer little bugger of a camera. I use it as an extreme back-up – BUT – it makes an awesome entry level video camera as a short cut to ultra high quality video for very little money. It competes with equipment 10 times it’s price. It is the same family as the Canon 5D Mark II and the 7D but at a lower entry point. Ultimately the 5D Mark II is the top dog, but this puppy is not far behind at all. The weakness is the sound system with it’s automatic gain control (AGC) but you overcome that with the juidedLink sound mixer on this page.

Sound for the video is SUPER important. The juicedlink 454 is an awesome piece of equipment. When used with one of the Canon DSLR cameras that also do video it will kill the AGC (auto gain control) and give you noise free pro sounding sound:
