Here it is folks, the new Canon 7D. News of the new camera is all over the internet, from ProPhotoHome, to DPReview, to the little guys – like me here at ABBC
We all stayed up late to report the news on the new camera.
This camera is important because it represents Canon’s first real response to a lot of issues it has been facing over the last 2 years. While the newish 5D Mark II is a new camera, Canon has not introduced any response to the focusing problems it has faced since the 1D Mark III. This is where it all happens though, Canon is revealing their abilities both in focusing and also what they can do in low light with high ISO. Those with Canon 580 EX flashes will be happy to know that this is the first pro-level 1.6 crop camera that will control the Canon wireless system. Nikon camera owners have enjoyed the command center of their SB800 and SB900 flash unit from the camera and now the Canon camera can enjoy the same.
Read more about this all over the internet or at ProPhotoHome where there is more coverage of the story. When I get my hands on the camera I will share with you all my thoughts on what it’s about.
You can bet all the ABBC bounce cards are going to work awesome with this camera

While many are enthused about the 1.6 crop, I am a big fan. I think that I would tend to loose the effect of my wide angle lenses such as 15 fish and 16mm. On the other hand, the video is a great option.

Pfft. Never mind that Minolta/Sony users have had this ability for over a decade…
