Watch the video above to get a first hand tour of the new Studio Pro. Measuring at 11.24×13 the Studio Pro effectively does the job of a 12×12 softbox using only standard Canon, Nikon, and other speedlights. You hotshoe flash units now can give you large soft lighting when you use the Studio Pro.

These are too large for use on the camera, but using a special adapter from places like B&H Photo, you can mount your speedlights (like the Canon 550, 580, 580 EX II, Nikon DB800, Nikon SB900 and others similar to these) on a standard light stand. The front of the Studio Pro is reflective white while the back has a professional black matte finish. The Studio Pro is easily attached using the velcro belt that is already mounted on the unit.

They make the entire unit – the Studio Pro and the flash unit on the light stand look really nice and customizes your look a bit. $44  The ABBC Featherlight Hot Spot Reducer.

Often in studio photography we use umbrellas and softboxes. Many photographers choose to “feather” the light, or use the edges of the light rather than a direct on hit.

The reason is simple, the outer edges of the light is softer than the center hotspot.

The new ABBC Hot Spot Reducer accomplishes something similar to the technique called “feathering the light”. By removing the center of the diffused light the light source is now coming more from the left and the right side of the bounce card and this causes a hot spot reduction for smack center.

This is great for aiding you in reducing forehead glare, eye glass reflection, and nose shine.

Mounted on the camera’s hot shoe flash the narrow way gives you near instant change from landscape to portrait orientation of the camera for very fast response to composing your image.

The ABBC bounce cards are white on both sides. Be sure to put on the Attachment bands while the flash unit is NOT sitting in the hot shoe so your camera’s flash unit does not crack the hot shoe foot while sitting on the camera.

Soft diffused light is what the ABBC bounce cards are about. Easily puts out more light than most diffusers on the market today and has almost no weight to add to your camera and is soft so accidental bumps of people or things will not knock it off or damage your camera.

Mimicking the pull-up white card that is built into many of today’s new camera flash units, the ABBC Mini-Light adds the black shield so bouncing at angles around a room will not blast light into other people’s eyes causing them to be blinded (and possibly angry) with a sudden burst of light coming from your camera gear.
