Want usable and better light from that tiny little pop-up flash on your DSLR camera – you got it.
The Flash Director comes in 2 flavors, the Flash Director all white with polymer construction (no foam, a type of plastic) or the Flash Director Pro Black/white. The Pro uses the same diffusion material as the ABBC 3.0 pro units. It is an ultra white soft diffusion front side and a black back for a pro look.
The Flash Director has 2 attachment bands to attach it to the camera. One "hooks" under the name plate on the front of the camera, the other hooks under the eyepiece cup on the backside of the camera. There is no stickies or modifications to the camera.
This attachment method allows us to bypass the hotshoe completely, meaning this will attach to any DSLR with a name-plate overhang in the from and an eyepiece ring or cup on the bak. Different hot shoe mounts (like Sony) work just fine and so do hot shoes with special sensors (like Canon) because we bypass the hot shoe completely.
Using the little pop-up flash diffuser still requires you to use an ISO of 800 or higher (optimally ISO 1600 or greater) just because of the nature of the beast. Pop-up flash units put on VERY little power.
Using in portrait oriantation is options, the Flash Director does NOT swivel or turn. Some folks like the way it works when you turn the camera sideways - others do not. You make your own choice.
The new Flash Director is really very light weight adding less than 2 ounces to your camera gears weight. It stores easy, but do not flatten it or take it apart or you will break it and - then your up the creek :)
